How to travel Darjeeling via train?

If your are planning your holiday destination to Darjeeling is Apr, May, June and Sept to Nov. It is only the best time, but if you want to explore Darjeeling every season, every month, welcomes you with a different beauty. You can visit Darjeeling via Railway and Airways, but in this blog I am going to help you out with the Railway transport.

• For train you must take your ticket till NJP (New Jalpaiguri Junction Railway station) which is approx 73 km away from Darjeeling. But before coming Darjeeling your first destiny is Siliguri. 
• After you are down in NJP at day time you will get lots of taxis on sharing basis or reserve basis to Siliguri Junction or Darjeeling More which is a taxi hub for Darjeeling on sharing or reserved basis according to your convenience.
• If you reach NJP at night try to get your hotel near by railway station or call for vehicle if it is conformed from the beginning, try not to come to Siliguri at night and lock down searching for hotels. If the vehicle or accommodation is not fixed at Siliguri or to Darjeeling, better be safe and search for good hotel in Railway station it may be money saving and safe for you.  
• After you will take auto from NJP ask your auto driver to help you out to reach Siliguri Junction or Darjeeling More.
• In Siliguri Junction or Darjeeling More you will get number of taxi stand which will help you to get your taxi on sharing or reserve basis. After you will settle down in taxi it will start your journey to Queen of Hills via Rohini Road or Pankha Baree road turning from one hairpin to another bend.

Destination Darjeeling! via Airways

• Whenever you want to visit Darjeeling via Airways you select a flight till Bagdogra.
• After reaching Bagdogra airport please try to explore different taxi drivers for better charges till Siliguri(Darjeeling More OR Junction ). Negotiation will land in better deal.
• Take a taxi till Siliguri if you don’t have direct taxi booked from airport to Darjeeling. In Siliguri, Darjeeling More & Junction you will get lots of sharing taxis till Darjeeling.
• If you want to take rest nearby airport you have main Bagdogra market near by sharing auto may charge Rs. 100/- per person till market (Bihar more).
